Discussion relating to DB Cargo UK, formerly known as DB Schenker and previously EWS.
DB Cargo are a freight operating company, owned by the German state rail operator Deutsche Bahn. They were founded at privatisation in 1995 as the English, Welsh & Scottish Railway (EWS), before being bought by Deutsche Bahn in 2007 and rebranded as DB Schenker. They were subsequently rebranded as DB Cargo UK in March 2016.
DB Cargo currently operates a fleet of 6 Class 59 diesel locomotives, 90 Class 60 diesel locomotives, 250 Class 66 diesel locomotives, 30 Class 67 diesel locomotives, 24 Class 90 electric locomotives, 21 Class 92 electric locomotives and 15 Class 325 departmental electric multiple units (purpose used for, and used on, Royal Mail postal trains).
