Discussion relating to the Glasgow Subway.
The Glasgow Subway is a heavy rail underground metro network located in central Glasgow, opened on 14 December 1896. There are 15 stations on the network, served using a fleet of 12 Glasgow Subway metro trains, built by Metro-Cammell between 1977 and 1979.
Services are operated along one line, a circular line from Buchanan Street to Partick and back around to Buchanan Street.
The Glasgow Subway is currently operated directly by the Strathclyde Partnership for Transport (SPT). It is one of the few light rail/metro networks in the United Kingdom not to be tendered, and thus is publicly-owned.
All information correct as of 4 July 2016.
