Discussion relating to the Midland Metro.
The Midland Metro is a light rail network located in the West Midlands, opened on 30 May 1999 and extended to Birmingham city centre in 2016. Further extensions to Edgbaston, Wolverhampton rail station and a potential second metro line to Coventry are currently in the planning stages. There are 26 stations on the network, served using a fleet of 21 CAF Urbos 3 trams, built between 2012 and 2016, following the retirement of the older AnsaldoBreda T-69 trams in 2015. The Urbos 3s are numbered 17-37.
Services are operated along one line, from Wolverhampton St. George's to Birmingham New Street.
The Midland Metro is currently operated by National Express West Midlands, under concession from Transport for West Midlands.
All information correct as of 4 July 2016.
