c2c are the current holder of the Essex Thameside rail franchise, having taken over services at privatisation on 26 May 1996. c2c's franchise is scheduled to run until 10 November 2029. The franchise is currently operated by National Express.
c2c's fleet currently consists of 74 Class 357 Electrostar units. Services are operated on the London, Tilbury & Southend route from London Fenchurch Street out to Shoeburyness, Southend, Grays, Rainham, Pitsea and Ockendon.
