Discussion relating to Eurostar.
Eurostar are an international high speed rail operator and as such are not subject to UK rail franchising. Eurostar commenced operations on 14 November 1994. They are owned, as a joint venture, by the French state rail operator SNCF (55%), CDPQ (30%), Hermes Infrastructure (10%) and the Belgian state rail operator SNCB (5%).
Eurostar's fleet currently consists of 27 Class 373/1 sets and 17 Class 374 Velaro sets. Services are operated from London St Pancras International to Paris Gare du Nord and Brussels Midi, with some services calling at intermediate stations and extending to other locations across France and Belgium.
