Discussion relating to London Overground.
London Overground is the name of the suburban rail network that operates across Greater London and into surrounding areas. Unlike most franchises, the London Overground contract is tendered by Transport for London. London Overground Rail Operations, Ltd. (LOROL) are the current holder of the London Overground tender, having taken over service with the creation of the tender on 11 November 2007. LOROL's operation of the London Overground tender is scheduled to run until 2016. LOROL is a joint venture between Arriva (50%) and the MTR Corporation (50%).
London Overground's fleet currently consists of 8 Class 172/0 Turbostar units, 17 Class 315 units, 14 Class 317 units and 57 Class 378 Capitalstar units. Services are operated throughout Greater London, on the North London Line, West London Line, East London Line, South London Line, Watford DC Line, Gospel Oak to Barking Line, Lea Valley Lines and Romford to Upminster Line.
All information is correct as of 4 July 2016.
