Virgin Trains East Coast are the current holder of the InterCity East Coast rail franchise, having taken over from East Coast on 1 March 2015. Virgin Trains East Coast's franchise is scheduled to run until 31 March 2023. The franchise is currently operated by a joint venture between Stagecoach (90%) and Virgin Group (10%).
Virgin Trains East Coast's fleet currently consists of 14 InterCity 125 sets and 31 InterCity 225 sets. Services are operated along the East Coast Main Line.
