Discussion relating to Network Rail.
Network Rail is the owner and infrastructure manager of most of the UK rail network, founded in 2002. In order to carry out engineering works across the network, they operate a number of departmental trains.
Network Rail currently operates a fleet of 2 Class 73 electro-diesel locomotives, 4 Class 97 diesel locomotives, 1 Class 117 diesel multiple unit, 1 Class 121 diesel multiple unit, 1 Class 313 electric multiple unit, 6 Class 489 control cars, 1 Class 950 diesel multiple unit, 5 DBSOs, 4 Driving Van Trailers, 46 MPVs, one InterCity 125 set (with three Class 43 power cars, formed into the New Measurement Train) and various departmental coaching stock.
