RULES AND REGULATIONS
Respect the rules of the forum
Failure to do so will result in necessary action taken by staff
No spamming
In this forum, spamming means the intention to create useless posts to either increase post count or deliberately go off topic with harmful intention. We will also class any posts that contain an excessive amount of capital letters and/or an overly massive font size as spam. Any posts that contain spam will be hidden and the poster will be punished accordingly.
Respect other users
Do not insult other users with harmful intentions. We have a zero tolerance policy on insulting, and members will be punished severely if they attack other members in the slightest. This includes publishing personal information of the user, even if it's agreed with the other member. Mild, non-harmful insulting is allowed.
Only English is permitted
For now, only English is allowed on the forum. Any posts that contain any language other than English will be hidden. If enough interest is gathered, a board for your language may be set up.
Illegal software
We do not support piracy. Any posts that that contain cracks, torrents for illegal copies of products or any sites containing these items will be hidden and the user punished accordingly.
Unofficial competitions/giveaways
Please ask a member of staff if you would like to offer a giveaway or create a competition. The Buses of The UK team accepts no responsibility for unofficial giveaways or competitions, so enter/create at your own risk. Please do not post any personal information on the topic or thread, and be wary if you need to give any personal information to a competition/giveaway holder.
Topic bumping
You can only consecutively post in a topic once every two days. Also, any topics older than 14 days will have a warning in the quick reply section, informing you to create a new topic. Please report any topics older than 14 days to us, so we can close it. Bumping topics older than 14 days may result in a rise of your warning level. Please create a new topic instead (you can quote/link the topic if need be). This rule does not apply to seasonal discussion threads for companies.
Profanity
While we allow profanity, please keep it to a minimum. If you feel the need to swear a lot in a post, please censor those words.
Use descriptive subjects
Any topics containing vague/useless subjects will be corrected by a member of staff. Please refrain from using short subjects, such as "help (me)" or "what", "why", etc.
No graphic content
What we allow (with a NSFW warning and given that the content is within a spoiler):
What we disallow:
This rule applies to topics, replies, signatures, avatars and profile information.
Avatars, signatures and profile information
All avatars, signatures and profile information need to comply with every rule stated here, with the following additional rules:
Insulting staff
Insulting staff will result in your content becoming immediately moderated without a verbal warning prior.
Impersonation of staff
Impersonating any staff member current or former will result in an immediate name change. Continued impersonation will result in a rise of your warning level.
Laws
Do not break any international law. Posts containing methods to circumnavigate laws or direct law breaking will result in punishment.
Strict moderation
In any board tagged with the Strict Moderation tag, any off-topic post posted will result in immediate rise of your warning level without a verbal warning prior, to ensure quality of content in the section.
Deleting/disabling user accounts
We only delete accounts in special circumstances, however we do offer to disable accounts via permanently banning you. Please send a PM to an Administrator if you would like your account to be deleted/disabled, along with a reason why.
The procedure
This is the normal procedure the Buses of The Uk staff will use to punish offenders. However, a different course of action may be used, depending on the severity of the offence and amount of punishments you have previously had.
Stage 1: Verbal warning
A verbal warning will be sent to you via PM (or as a reply on the thread) on your first rule break. This is your only chance to correct your behaviour without a strike adding to your account.
Stage 2: Warning #1
Upon your second rule break, your warning level will go up. You will be added to our watchlist, so we know how your behaviour is like. Depending on the severity, your warning level will go up to anything below 25%.
Stage 3: Posts moderated
Once your warning level reaches 25%, your posts will be moderated. This will mean that any future posts created by you will result in them being automatically hidden until a member of staff approves it.
Stage 4: Ban
If your warning level is 75% or over, you will be unable to post anything on the forum. Depending on the severity of your infraction history, you may also be permanently banned from accessing the forum. There is no chance of appeal.
Depending on the offence(s), these stages may be temporary or permanent. Your warning level be decreased by a member of staff if the punishment expires. Do not ask the staff member handling the punishment to decrease it, as this will result in an extension to the level. Even if the punishment was supposed to expire.
Complaints against staff
If you feel you have been treated unfairly by the staff, please send the posistion's leader or an Administrator a PM. Please do not create any sort of thread or reply that complains against a staff member, as this will result in your complaint being voided, even if you choose to send a PM after.
Agreement
By using this forum, you agree that you have read the rules above, and that you will follow them.
The Buses of The UK team reserve the right to punish you if they deem it appropriate and deny you access to the site for any reason without prior inform.
