Discussion relating to Govia Thameslink Railway (GTR).
GTR are the current holder of the Thameslink, Southern and Great Northern rail franchise, having taken over from First Capital Connect on 14 September 2014, and merged with Southern Railway on 26 July 2015. GTR's franchise is scheduled to run until 2021. The franchise is currently operated by Govia, a joint venture between Go-Ahead and Keolis. Services are operated under four distinct brands - Thameslink, Southern, Great Northern, and Gatwick Express.
GTR's fleet currently consists of 1 Class 73 locomotive (Southern), 20 Class 171 Turbostar units (Southern), 63 Class 313 units (Great Northern/Southern), 12 Class 317 units (Great Northern), 59 Class 319 units (Thameslink), 13 Class 321 units (Great Northern), 40 Class 365 Units (Great Northern), 239 Class 377 Electrostar units (Thameslink/Southern), 56 Class 387 Electostar units (Thameslink/Gatwick Express), 24 Class 442 units (Gatwick Express), 56 Class 455 units (Southern) and 115 Class 700 Desiro City units (Thameslink/Great Northern). The Class 387 and 700 units are currently being delivered. Services are operated throughout South East England.
